Inspired by the words of Bryan Bruce (Documentary Maker/Writer NZ)

“After WW11, as the UK and Europe rebuilt their bombed and broken societies and war-weary soldiers returned to kick-start their country back into economic life, there was a broad feeling of togetherness and a desire to build a better world for their children. I was one of those children, and I benefitted enormously from the WE society of post war NZ, in which the government controlled the society market-place and the wealthy paid their fair share of tax for the good of all. But as we all prospered, the idea that our well-being depended on the well-being of others, gradually slipped away.” Bryan Bruce … March 2025
