  • Colour and texture are the foundations of your home. On them you build your personality, influence your emotions and live your own unique life. The aim of my colour consultation is to help you find your uniqueness, rather than follow the latest trend.

Ways to connect

MEET THE ARTIST

Hi, I’m Richard

An artist, colour designer and music lover with a career spanning graphic design and marketing, TV, publishing, teaching, and curating … basically anything creative.

I consider myself fortunate because I have always known, and followed my passion, whether it has worked financially or not, and on my journey I have met some amazing ‘creatives’.

When I paint, it is not my desire or intention to tell you what to think or feel when you look at a piece of my work. Your connection with the work is unique to you, and must be respected. For me, that is the very essence of art. To make us think and reflect.

Working on Sculptures in Paddock

When asked to put a label on himself to make it easier for people to see what he does. Richard just laughs . . . “ l can’t “ he says. “l’ve never been able to put myself in a box. Basically, whatever l’ve done and still do, must involve being creative, so l have woven it into everything l do . . . my art, my colour consulting business, my art promotion work, exhibition and event curating and organising and managing community fundraisers. I work at my own art practice in my studio and surround myself with an eclectic art collection at home, it’s just who l am”.

qsWhen

Pablo Picasso quote:

When next in Rust Ave, Whangarei NZ drop into

DeLuca Cafe

On a white wall is a canvas painting.

The title is ‘l can never say goodbye’

This is one of a new series of paintings at Deluca

inspired by the lyrics of Robert Smith (The Cure)

Songs of a Lost World

“Kind of strange to think it takes this long to get misunderstood

There is no-where left to hide

l can’t wake this dreamless sleep

l could never say goodbye.”
